En los primeros años de la década de 1970, la Editorial Record de Argentina había descubierto un filón de éxito al publicar las fotonovelas de Kiling. Obviamente la idea fue seguir publicando material similar, tanto comprándolo a Italia (la patria de origen de Kiling) como haciéndolo directamente en Argentina.
El resultado fue la aparición de varias series, una de las cuales fue Namur. Para eso contrataron a Gloria Gago, modelo de la época (si quieren pueden verla en un pequeño papelito en la comedia Estoy hecho un demonio de Hugo Moser, que se estrenó en 1972) para que encarnara a esta super espía vestida de cuero y con antifaz negro que trabajaba para la misteriosa organización Taurus.
Namur recibía sus órdenes por una pantalla de tele que tenía en su departamento, desde donde hablaba con Taurus, el líder de la organización. Con quien, por cierto, tiene una relación de amor y odio bastante conflictiva. A Taurus le gusta molestar a su agente y la ha manipulado para que cumpla con operaciones en las que ella no quiere involucrarse, pero también ha sabido defenderla en momentos riesgosos. Y Namur también le hace sus jugarretas a su jefe.
Namur es una experta en le combate cuerpo a cuerpo y en el uso del látigo. Sabe varios idiomas (en un episodio, su conocimiento del croata es indispensable para resolver el enigma planteado). Tiene una inveterada costumbre de terminar en algún momento amarrada con sogas (para alegría de los fans del bondage) pero sabe zafarse y enfrentar a sus rivales sin problema. No tiene escrúpulos para matar si lo considera necesario.
Namur vive soltera, pero se le conocen muchos amoríos. Tal vez el más regular sea el que sostiene con Snike, un agente secreto con cero escrúpulos morales y preocupado solo por el color del dinero. Snike (a diferencia de Namur, toda una profesional confiable dentro del mundo del espionaje) es capaz de cambiarse de bando si el dinero es el correcto. De hecho su primer encuentro fue de conflicto entre ambos, pero al final, los opuestos se atrajeron y ambos vivieron varias aventuras juntos como amantes.
Si bien no hay villanos recurrentes en las historias de Namur, hay un personaje que chocó dos o tres veces con ella: Mister Muerte. Un antiguo juez convencido de la ineficacia del sistema judicial, Mister Muerte se dedicó a eliminar de manera expedita a quienes cometen crímenes. En lo posible, los ponía en una guillotina privada (que tenía en los sótanos de su casa) y los decapitaba. Namur se opuso al menos dos veces a Mister Muerte, pero no lo consideraba el enemigo sino alguien equivocado.
La revista Namur empezó a fines de 1972 y duró treinta números. En tres de ellos, Namur se cruzó con Yorga, el Hombre Lagarto (nº15), Kiling (nº 18) y Goldrake (nº24).

ENGLISH VERSION
In the first years of the 1970s the Kiling photonovel was a success in Argentina. The local editors, Editorial Record, decided to publish more similar stuff. Some of them were local editions of other Italian photonovels. Others were produced in Argentina for the editorial.
One of this series locally produced was Namur. They got Gloria Gago (a model and small film player of the time) for the part. She was this super spy, dressed in a black sexy oufit and with a black domino who works for the Taurus organization.
Namur is a very good agent, expert on hand to hand combat and in the use of the whip. She knows more than one language (for example in a story her knowledge of Croatian is indispensable to resolve the enigma of the story). She is always caught and roped in bondage (for the delight of the S&M crowd out there) but she knows her way out of the dilemma sooner and later. She has no trouble in kill some people if necessary. She receives her orders via a TV set in her home. From there she communicates with her superior, Taurus.
Her relation with Taurus is a complex one. Taurus is a cunning and manipulator chief and likes to tease Namur whenever he could. But he respects her abilities and try to cover her whenever necessary. She too respect the talent of Taurus but , if possible, likes to force his hand.
Namur is single but has plenty of lovers. Her most regular lover is snike , an amoral and mercenary spy, who is able to change sides in the middle of a conflict if the money is right. But he and Namur got in a fiery romance who put you both in some adventures together.
There arent recurring villains in the series. But in two stories she got to match wits with Mister Muerte (Mr. death), an old ex-judge turned vigilante. Mr. Muerte is obsessed to punish the guilty at any cost. The mode of execution of his preference is the decapitation with a guillotine who got in his house basement. He is not against Namur but at least two times they got into a fight with each other.
The Namur series start in the last months of 1972. Thirthy issues were published. IN some of them , she team up with Yorga (nº15), Killing (nº18) and Goldrake (nº24).
